Boo. Did I scare you?

Dear Movie Mates, I hope this Blog finds you in good health. Horror Movie season is in full swing over here at the OCC and for this Halloween, we will be dressing the building up in 90’s themed décor. We have spent the last 25 years preparing the building for this occasion and now it is our time to shine.

Last months blog got a little out of control, so we are going to reel it in a little bit and give you the cold hard facts. First, I would like to cover some basic policies and procedures for the Halloween season. We have a strict no Vampire policy in place. For those of you not aware, Vampires must be Invited into a dwelling or establishment. If you are a Vampire wishing to see any of our new Horror movies like Smile 2 or Terrifier 3, you will be turned away. We have also saged the whole building to ward off any malevolent spirits. As of right now, OCC is 100% ghost free. I can’t promise there wont be a Zombie uprising, those things are unpredictable. But we do have a plan in place for a Zombie Apocalypse, should it occur. There are no swamps nearby so Swamp Thing shouldn’t be an issue. Not many Mummies in the area so the alert level on that one is low. Werewolves are invited to all features at this time, but we respectfully ask that you do not come on a full moon.

For those of you that are not Vampires, we invite you to come join us for all of our great upcoming movies and events. Only two more weeks left of our Nightmare Nights Horror-thon with “In the Mouth of Madness” Starting October 18th to October 24th and “Evil Dead 2” October 25th to October 31st. We will then scale back Nightmare nights to once a month. Check our website for specific times and dates.

We’ve got our Spooktacular themed Open Mic nights every tuesday in October and then we will be transitioning Open Mic night to just once a month going forward. Also don’t forget, we have Survivor on the big screen every Wednesday while it airs.

The big movie this Month is “Venom: The Last Dance”, and unlike Joker 2, I don’t think they actually dance. Then onto November where we have a ton of great movies coming out. So much going on in November that we will now start releasing the blog the first week of the month instead of in the middle of the month, provided I can meet my deadlines, which is a little iffy sometimes. If you are the head of a magazine looking for a new writer, then I always hit my deadlines. (*note from Blog Manager – no, he doesn’t. Text excerpt from earlier, “Dude, I got nothing for the blog.”)

In the Spirit of Halloween, I’d Like to start a new segment called “Free giveaways that I’m pretty sure I’m not authorized to do but I’m going to do them anyway”, On Halloween, anyone with the last name Vorhees, Krueger, Myers, or Pinhead will get a free small popcorn with purchase of a movie ticket.

Stay Safe out there Movie Mates!
