Tis the season for Thanksgiving Blockbusters!
What’s up ya Movie Mates? I held my own elections here last week and elected a new Blog manager. (edit from Blog Manager, misinformation) The previous Blog Manager was getting cranky and Irate about missing deadlines constantly. (edit from Blog Manager, it’s easy to be cranky when Matt misses his deadlines) I would like to introduce you to the new blog manager….Me. As new blog manager I promise to give you all the movie information you so desperately need on a timeline that fits my schedule. There will be no fact checking and no censoring from here on out. So lets Censored go.
I always like to take time before the holidays to remind people what they are really about. Thanksgiving is all about Turkey, Shopping for Christmas, and those sweet sweet Thanksgiving Blockbuster movies. It’s a magical time of year for movies, we scared the crap out of you over Halloween with a ton of horror movies, and now we got a little something for everyone. Some say it’s a little early for Christmas but Hollywood disagrees with “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever!” opening Nov 8 th and “Red One” November 15th , Both of which are on sale now at Oakscenter.net. Not ready for Christmas yet? Still in Halloween mode? well then the A24 Horror movie “Heretic” Opens up Nov 8th as well.
There are a bunch more movies coming out this month but the BIG Blockbusters are Gladiator 2, Wicked, and Moana 2! All of which we have some really cool merch for. While we are talking about merch…we have a bunch of movie related merchandise on sale now at the theatre for all types of movies.
Trying to relive the glory days of cinema? Well we are bringing back some classic movies for the whole month of November and December. National Lampoons Vacation, Police Academy, Free Willy, Any Given Sunday, An American Tale, Little Shop of Horrors, NL’s European Vacation, and Rudy! And that’s just November! Go to our website for tickets and times, while you’re there bookmark our page and wait patiently for the December classic movie line up to drop. I’ll give you a hint, they are mostly Christmas related.
We also have a special showing of “The Breakfast Club” Sponsored and hosted by The Andie Summers Show. All you need to do to get into this exclusive event is bring at least one canned good. All canned goods will be donated to the Preston and Steve shows Campout for Hunger which benefits Philabundance! You can help feed the Hungry AND watch The Breakfast Club…it’s a win win.
Wow so many cool things going on at the OCC, your brain probably hurts with all of this information. Well if you are a glutton for pain, keep reading because there is still more to go. November 16 th our pals at Comedy Explosion are bringing us another great comedian Jason Salmon, from “Orange is the New Black”. Tickets on sale at thecomedyexplosion.com. November 15th is the OCC Exclusive Red Carpet premiere of “Last Known Location” with tickets on sale at our website. Open Mic Night is November 12th and Survivor is every Wednesday. I probably should’ve put them all in order by date but I didn’t because my brain hurts from all these great things at the OCC.
And since my brain does in fact hurt, I do not want to edit this blog. So, effective immediately, I will be resigning my position of Blog Manager. I promise a peaceful transfer of power back to the previous blog manager. (edit from Blog Manager, ahh so now you need me)
Stay safe out there Movie Mates.
