There are great things coming to the O.C.
What is up my Movie Mates? I hope everyone had a great Holiday Season! Thank you to the thousands of people that joined us for some great movies last month. For those that didn’t join us, I will forgive you…this time. Now that the Holidays are over and your New Years Eve hangover is hopefully gone by now, It’s time to get down to business and discuss all the great things coming to The O.C.!
We are continuing showing classic films for the month of January but after the lighthearted family Christmas theme of December, we decided to go in the complete opposite direction and show Quentin Tarantino films for the month of January. Starting with “Pulp Fiction” January 10th-16th , “From Dusk Til Dawn” January 17th-23rd , “Kill Bill” Volumes 1 & 2 January 24th-January 30th , and leading us into the February Valentines love fest with “True Romance” January 31st - February 6th. Februarys Classic Series will be messed up love stories and maybe “The Notebook” because lets face it, It’s the best movie ever made. Make sure to mosey on over to Oakscenter.net for tickets and times. Shows and times are subject to change.
Our good friends at Comedy Explosion are bringing us yet another fun filled chucklefest on January 25th featuring A.J. White and Jimmy Graham hosted by Peaches Rodriguez from the Nick Cannon show. Tickets are on sale now at thecomedyexplosion.com. Stop reading this and go buy your tickets now! The rest of this blog is nonsense and poorly written anyway, so save yourself and go buy tickets to something that is actually funny.
Oh…You didn’t leave to get the tickets. This is awkward. Hmm now what… I guess I could tell you about the Delaware Valley Filmmakers Showcase on February 22nd . I know we are talking about January stuff but the DVF Showcase is near and dear to my heart. The first DVFS was such a success, we had to do it again. This is your chance to see some really creative and intriguing short films made by local filmmakers. You can also rub elbows with some of the actors and directors! *Metaphorical rubbing of elbows only please!
So last year, I told ya’ll January is a typically slow month for the movie Industry, BUT this year the Hollywood Gods have blessed us with a couple of pretty solid titles. I also told ya’ll I would stop doing movie synopsiseses... Synopsicees… Synopsi? I lied, see below.
Den of Thieves 2: Pantera (January 10th): Obviously it’s a sequel to Den of Thieves, except in this one after they thieve stuff, they sit in their den and listen to Heavy Metal Band “Pantera” for two hours straight.
Wolfman (January 17th): A WOLF MAN! A man that is a wolf! Or a Wolf that is a man! Either way, its gonna be a good movie!
Flight Risk (January 24th): Mark Wahlberg…as a villain… on a plane…with a receding hairline.
Dog Man (January 31st): Sorry guys and gals, I thought this was exactly like Wolfman but with a Dog. Turns out this one is for the kids.
Companion (January 31st): After you take your kids to see Dog Man, rent a babysitter or pawn em off on some relatives and come see companion. Supposedly it’s a Sci Fi Horror Love Story. Not really sure what it’s about but it looks pretty good. Grab a couple of beers from our 100+ beer selection and you might not even care whether it is good or bad.
For real and accurate synopissies, go to oakscenter.net.
Well, that’s all the time we have today folks. Stay safe out there Movie Mates.
