All American Blockbusters
What the fourth is up Movie Mates! I hope everyone had a wonderful Independence Day. Here is a fun little unknown made-up fact, the original constitution didn’t have the phrase “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness”. It was originally “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of $10 movies”.
Theres nothing more American than kicking your feet up in a nice, air-conditioned theatre, stuffing your face with delicious buttery popcorn, while watching Deadpool and Wolverine! I am pretty sure George Washington himself would’ve already hopped on oakscenter.net or Fandango.com and bought his tickets. He seems like a Popcorn, Large Diet Coke, and a Buncha Crunch kind of guy.
Speaking of George Washington, we are hosting our First Annual “Delaware Valley Filmmaker Showcase” on August 17th showcasing Independent short films from across the Delaware Valley. Buy your tickets now at Oakscenter.net to reserve your spot.
Since I’m only contractually obligated for 466 words in my blog, I will skip some of the events and go straight to the upcoming Movies. BUT with so many great events coming up, be sure to check our website Oakscenter.net. We add new events all the time so be sure to check 10 times a day, every day.
For those of you that don’t know, there is a little movie called Deadpool and Wolverine coming out July 26th with early shows on July 25th . Some people are calling this the “Don’t miss movie of the decade”, trust me, I know lots of people and they are all saying it. Nobody knows more people than our Open Mic night host Nick, whom I just Interviewed.
Me: “Hey Pal, you pumped for Deadpool?”
Nick: “Bleep Yeah!”
Me: “Are you going to see it opening night?”
Nick: “Possibly”
Me: “So not that pumped…”
Nick: “I probably will”
Me: “Dude be more excited; I’m transcribing this for my blog”
Nick: “I’m so thrilled that I think I might purchase all the fine goodies and merch”
Nick: “Next week will be a Deadpool and Wolverine Hype open Mic”
Me: “Speaking of merch, you gotta see the Deadpool Figure Popcorn bucket. It’s siiiick.”
Me: “So what’s up with the special cosplayer event?”
So, Nick told me the Philadelphia Avengers Cosplayers will be on site at the OCC dressed as Deadpool and The X-Men. The will be taking photos and meet and greets 6:00pm- 8:00pm then a little bit of Marvel themed Trivia before they head in to watch the 9:30pm showing.
Well, I am running out of words on my contract, so you’ll have to hang tight. Stay safe out there Movie Mates.
